Accredited Courses

Considering a career change? As an Approved Training Centre we deliver courses which are accredited by the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers (AMUSF) and recognised by the industry. If you want to learn the craft in depth in order to equip yourself with the skills and knowledge necessary to carry out commercial upholstery work, either in running your own business, or working with an established upholsteror, then the Upholstery Diploma course is ideal for you.

The Upholstery Diploma is a 3-Stage course.

  • Stage 1 - The Craft Certificate.
  • Stage 2 - Intermediate Craft Certificate.
  • Stage 3 - The Diploma.

It is not necessary to complete all 3 Stages as each Stage is a recognised qualification in its own right. However to achieve the Diploma you will need to complete all 3 Stages in sequence.

Each Stage follows a syllabus set by the AMUSF comprising a minimum of 210hrs training to be completed within 12 months. If you wish to proceed straight to Stage 2 on successful completion of Stage 1, you can do so and thus complete all your training in much less than 2 years (typically within approximately 1 year) subject to availability.

* The basic upholstery 'build' materials such as webbing, hessian, stuffing and calico etc are charged by the metre/kilo as appropriate, noted as they are used, and then paid for at the end of the course.
